Jenny Sciolino Joins the Firm's Small Business Group

DAVIE KAPLAN, CPA, P.C. is proud to announce the addition of Jenny Sciolino as a Small Business Group Assistant. A graduate of Brockport University, Jenny's prior work experience is with ABVI - Goodwill, where she was most recently a junior accountant.

Davie Kaplan Employees Participate in Wellness Initiative

Over forty employees participated in the fall Wegmans' "Eat Well, Live Well" Challenge. This wellness initiative promoted taking more steps and striving for five fruits and vegetables a day. Davie Kaplan joined hundreds of other Rochester employers in this year's event. The program was such a success with employee participation that the firm plans to participate again in 2012.

Jeanette Townsend Joins the Firm's Tax Department

DAVIE KAPLAN, CPA, P.C. is proud to announce the addition of Jeanette T. Townsend as Tax Manager. A graduate of the State University of New York at Brockport, Jeanette brings numerous years of experience to the firm. She was most recently with Freed Maxick and Battaglia, P.C.

Chris Cimini and Stacy Eaker Promoted to Manager

DAVIE KAPLAN, CPA, P.C. is proud to announce two promotions in the Auditing and Accounting department. Chris Cimini, a graduate of Nazareth College, has been with the firm for five years. He is responsible for coordinating and reviewing various firm engagements, including audits, reviews, and compilations of financial statements. Chris is also active in individual taxation and tax planning for business clients and their owners. Stacy Eaker, a graduate of Alfred University, has also been with the firm for five years She specializes in providing corporate accounting and tax services; multi-state income tax preparation, financial and tax due diligence in connection with mergers and acquisitions, identification of Federal and state incentive programs and tax credits for new and expanding businesses, and facilitation of Federal and state income tax audits.

Alan Rich Becomes Partner

DAVIE KAPLAN, CPA, P.C.is proud to announce that Alan E. Rich, Jr., CPA/ABV has been promoted to partner in the tax department.  Alan is a graduate of Ithaca College and is a member of the Forensic and Valuation Services section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts along with being accredited in Business Valuations.

Davie Kaplan Partner Appointed to Board of Directors

Jeffrey Wexler has been named to the board of directors for the Rochester Area Community Foundation. The Community Foundation works to improve the quality of life in the greater Rochester region by evaluating and addressing community issues promoting responsible philanthropy, and connecting donors to the critical needs of the community. Mr. Wexler is a partner in the firm's Audit and Accounting department.

Website Wins Gold

Atomic Design has been awarded gold in the "Best Overall" category from over 5,000 entries for the design of Davie Kaplan's website. A look at the winners shows a range in size from individual communicators to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies. The competition is so well thought of in the industry that national public relations organizations, local ad clubs, and local business communicator chapters are entrants. MarCom Awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The Association oversees awards and recognition programs and sets standards for excellence.

Jennifer Jones Makes Partner

Managing Partner Reaches New Heights

Patrick R. George, CPA, participated on Friday, May 21, 2010, in the 21 Stories for Scouts fundraiser event. This unique event challenged individuals to rappel down the side of the First Federal Plaza located in downtown Rochester. Money raised will go to support urban scouting programs, including the over 40 after-school programs in Rochester schools.
